Republicans go for a black man also

The Republicans have picked a black man as their next chairman

    ABC

ABC News’ Rick Klein and Teddy Davis Report: Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele was elected chairman of the Republican National Committee today, giving the GOP its first African-American leader as the party seeks to reframe its identity under the presidency of Barack Obama.
Given that they don't have a Senate or House majority, nor the presidency the RNC chairman will already have a higher than usual profile ... add in the black & he's got a national platform (note this is usually an organisational style post rather than stepping stone).

    Fox
Steele delivered a rousing speech after winning the race, pledging to re-establish the Republican presence in the northeast and win elections in regions across the country.
"It's time for something completely different, and we're gonna bring it to them," he said. "Get ready baby. It's time to turn it on."
    Change ?

Nothings going to change, their entire platform remains the same (government out of your pocket and into your bedroom), and they're still voting down the stimulus plan and pretending to be fiscal conservatives while opposing every economically and socially progressive piece of legislation that comes up.
They're already gearing up to fight the new workers rights bill and universal healthcare down the line. They think it's 1992 all over again and they'll be back in 2 years by sticking to their guns and being as conservative as possible.

They voted against the stimulus plan but I doubt any one of them will refuse the public works money for their own district.
