I was in New York for my fifteenth birthday back in 96. I know there is a picture of me on Liberty Island with the twin towers in the background somewhere. But I've always loved the idea of visiting all these backwaters and small towns to see what they're really like. To see what they're really like
Yeh when I was in Orlando I looked out the window and commented on how smooth the roads were, how perfect and well made, "they really know how to run a country" I said.
At this point the coach driver started to chuckle, I asked him what was funny, he told me the road we were driving on was owned and maintained by Universal Studios, not the state of Florida.

We took a drive to downtown Orlando during he holiday and I saw smashed up roads and pot holes the likes of which I'd never imagined, deserted dirty streets, and a shopping centre with most shops closed, the only open thing being a hooters and finally a bus station with about 20 African-Americans with one very white cop leaning against his squad car eyeing them with suspicion.

Never went to Florida but NYC was pretty clean. Admittedly I was staying on Park Ave but I got around the Island a bit. The thing that did strike me about it was how clean the slabs of pavement were. They were like tiles in a well kept kitchen. I suppose that is what kicked of my strongly held belief in strong local government

NY is run better, the US is a mixed bag, it depends on the state govt.

LA for example is a total and utter kip.

I know. I did go there. I don't know whether you can call LA a city though. It looks more like just a bunch of stuff that happened on top of eachother

Yeh and it's sitting on an earthquake fault line that will one day make all that stuff collapse.

Lets hope Obamas new FEMA guy is no "Brownie" and is planning for such a disaster.

Nah I like Barack. I think he has one of those reflective calculating brains like what I have. I therefore have to either trust him or doubt myself. So let's give this kind of thinking a spin in the Oval Office and my reputation will stand or fall on it.

I didnt' like LA and havent met anyone who did but it's not too bad along the coast. The beach is good. In terms of beinn run down, the worst place in the USA I saw was Detroit. I fell asleep on the bus to Chicago and woke up in Detroit with my head on the shoulder of this huge black woman who could have broken my back with one arm tied behind her back.

Anyway.. back on the subject.. you can't really boycott only the US. Many EU countries were on the invasion to Iraq as well..
So you shouldall Boycott US and EU
