Curious priorities at the Department of Foreign Affairs

I've nothing against the idea of helping out Irish people who've gotten into difficulty having been forced to emigrate or the Irish community overseas generally but these seem odd to me

JFK Presidential Library and Museum, Boston 1,000,000 ?

And I'm sure local GAA clubs would be appreciative of this sort of cash.

    San Francisco GAA Facilities 500,000
    Chicago Gaelic Park 250,000
    Rockland County GAA 200,000

Meh. Keep the Irish Americans happy so they don't funnel guns north again.

This is quite shocking that government are spending $15 million on projects in the USA, I would especially love to know what the New York "Irish Centre" that received $210,000 last year.

The government also says that funding will continue at this level for 2009, is this affordable?

Peanuts. We are spending about €900 million a year in Africa. Is this affordable?

We need to end all AID programs. We can neither afford it in this climate and it isn't a proper long term solution.

If we have to pick an animal to save let it be a tiger and not some venomous rat!

I'm fairly sure it's targeted at humanitarian programmes.

Ironically it's one of the more value for money budgets.
