It's good to see a bit of good news about the Middle East on politics.ie and in the media in general. All we ever hear from these areas is bad news so it's important to remember that there is good things going on today in that region.

Rich Israelis, and to a lesser extent rich Americans.
You see, it used to be a point of pride for countries like Iran to bring Palestinians in for transplant ops, as a way of rubbing the noses of the Israelis in it. Those Israelis were largely unable to get organs as no one would engage in an organ sharing programme with them, such as we have with Britain.
Those rich enough and sick enough would often go to places like India and buy organs from poor people, and then have them transplanted in third countries where the law on organ checking is slack.
In the US, the issue of rich people buying their organs derives from the fact that docs are not obliged to check whether relative donors actually are relatives. Hence you have some spindly short-ass rich white dude walking in with his six footer black 'cousin' or some fat as feck lard arse and his whippet thin Chicano 'half-brother' seeking to get the kidney out of the one and into the other. No questions asked.

I'm not a medic, but as far as I know, assuming they are both adults, there'd need to be a truly enormous size differential to cause problems. After all, they do often transplant kidneys from (obviously adult) parents to their children regularly.
