    One very brave Palestinian woman

    This is the town of Balin near Ramallah. Every week a demonstration is held there protesting the wall being built around the town. Usually with heavy presence of Israeli and western peace activists.

    And sadly, although the protests are usually peaceful, there are multiple cases of rubber shots wounds and suffocation of tear gas every week.

    Amazing footage. I'm left speechless.

    She is a Palestinian-American from Detroit. Per Wikipedia:

    Huwaida Arraf (born 1976 in Detroit, Michigan), co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM)..... Arraf majored in Arabic and Judaic studies and political science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor....

    Still, even as the investor consensus ravages the euro, it's worth remembering that the same herd instinct not long ago was pronouncing last rites for the dollar. Last year, as China's central bank chief called for a new global currency and Russian central bankers dumped greenbacks to buy euros, many saw the dollar's decline as inevitable. Now, the dollar is riding high, and the euro looks bedraggled.

    a hero, and a beautiful metaphor for the conflict.

    video cameras are more effective than suicide bombers, palestine needs more of them

    (as well food, medicine, running water, dignity...)
