There will be trouble all right but these French have it wrong about guns. The safest place to be will be where everyone is armed to the molars. This is not Texas but the most liberal state in the Union, Vermont. You don't even need a licence for concealed carry up there.

In an emergency the lads with guns will supply their neighbours and nobody will be concerned about licences.

I agree with you but remember this is from a mainstream highly respected think tank, just processing and analysing data. I doubt that they have much idea about the internal situation in America: the covert plans for the destruction of the US as presently constituted.

Living the American nightmare in a tented city

A recent article in The Irish Times which details the nightmarish outcome of the economic collapse for ordinary people, many now forced to live out of a tent.

Another piece by Michael Casey which deals with the topic of money creation by fiat.

The advantage of the gold standard was that it imposed discipline on governments but it also greatly constrained their scope for discretionary action. That is one of the main reasons why the Great Depression was so deep and long-lasting.

By buying these securities (mortgage-backed assets and treasury bills) the Fed is signing a huge cheque which will be lodged in the banks which are selling the securities. This will increase their ability to lend by a multiple of the amount lodged...

But the Fed does not have to have any of its own money on deposit anywhere. By signing the cheque it is creating money out of thin air. Central banks and governments, and they alone, have legal power to do this. This is fiat money; it is made by fiat.
Creating money by fiat is of course disastrous and a key profiteering tool of the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. If one reads the article Casey speaks about the possible unintended consequences. "Unintended"? As if the top economic minds in the States aren't fully aware of the consequences of their actions.

Well Barack Ogabi may not understand but you are right by stating the top economic minds clearly understand what they are doing

Bilderbergs meeting in 2009:

EU Observer

In the current "grey period," Mr Davignon expects the 19 March EU summit and the 2 April G20 meeting in London to generate goodwill for co-ordinated action, but not to come out with detailed agendas.

"These two meetings are going to be important because of what [the media] will say - is it a lot of jaw-jaw and everything will get worse? Or maybe it's the beginning of a realisation that the world will no longer be the same and we are going to do something about it."

A meeting in June in Europe of the Bilderberg Group - an informal club of leading politicians, businessmen and thinkers chaired by Mr Davignon - could also "improve understanding" on future action, in the same way it helped create the euro in the 1990s, he said.

"When we were having debates on the euro, people [at Bilderberg events] could explain why it was worth taking risks and the others, for whom the formal policy was not to believe in it, were not obliged not to listen and had to stand up and come up with real arguments."
So the Bilderbergs helped create the Euro, and I wonder why improve understanding is in quotes??

Everyone should read this important article on what will soon take place. I can only post a few short excerpts here:

This economic crisis is in large part the result of financial manipulation and outright fraud to the detriment of entire populations, leading to a renewed wave of corporate bankruptcies, mass unemployment and poverty.

The criminalization of the global financial system, characterized by a "Shadow Banking" network has resulted in the centralization of bank power and an unprecedented concentration of private wealth.

Obama's "economic stimulus" package and budget proposals contribute to a further process of concentration and centralization of bank power, the cumulative effects of which will eventually result in large scale corporate, bankruptcies, a new wave of foreclosures not to mention fiscal collapse and the downfall of State social programs. (For further details see Michel Chossudovsky, America's Fiscal Collapse, Global Research, March 2, 2009).

The proposed "solution" under the Obama administration contributes to exacerbating rather than alleviating social inequalities and the process of wealth concentration.

When people across America, whose lives have been shattered and destroyed, come to realize the true face of the global "free market" system, the legitimacy of Wall Street, the Federal Reserve and the US administration will be challenged...

Obama's populist rhetoric conceals the true nature of macro-economic policy. Acting on behalf of Wall Street, the administration's economic package, which includes close to a trillion dollar "aid" package for the financial services industry, coupled with massive austerity measures, contributes to precipitating America into a bottomless crisis.

"Orwellian Solution" to the Great Depression: Curbing Civil Unrest

At this particular juncture, there is no economic recovery program in sight. The Washington-Wall Street consensus prevails. There are no policies, no alternatives formulated from within the political and economic system.

What is the way out? How will the US government face an impending social catastrophe?

The solution is to curb social unrest. The chosen avenue, inherited from the outgoing Bush administration is the reinforcement of the Homeland Security apparatus and the militarization of civilian State institutions...

These "civilian facilities" on US military bases are to be established in cooperation with the US Military. Modeled on Guantanamo, what we are dealing with is the militarization of FEMA internment facilities.

Once a person is arrested and interned in a FEMA camp located on a military base, that person would in all likelihood, under a national emergency, fall under the de facto jurisdiction of the Military: civilian justice and law enforcement including habeas corpus would no longer apply.

HR 645 bears a direct relationship to the economic crisis and the likelihood of mass protests across America. It constitutes a further move to militarize civilian law enforcement, repealing the Posse Comitatus Act.

In the words of Rep. Ron Paul:
"...the fusion centers, militarized police, surveillance cameras and a domestic military command is not enough... Even though we know that detention facilities are already in place, they now want to legalize the construction of FEMA camps on military installations using the ever popular excuse that the facilities are for the purposes of a national emergency. With the phony debt-based economy getting worse and worse by the day, the possibility of civil unrest is becoming a greater threat to the establishment. One need only look at Iceland, Greece and other nations for what might happen in the United States next." (Daily Paul, September 2008, emphasis added)
As Joe Biden said, "Gird your loins" because "It's not going to be apparent that we're right."

Yesterday's Irish Times carried a report on next week's globalist summit which is going to be the focus of some concentrated, organised anger. Unfortunately, this is probably what the manipulators actually desire. Their mistake is thinking they can control the genie they are unleashing. In fact I believe none of them will survive the coming great tribulation, which will make next week by comparison look like nursery kids' games.

As the G20 leaders gather in London next week for further discussions on the global financial crisis, a disparate coalition of anti-capitalist and other protesters plan to bring London’s financial district to a halt. The protests are scheduled to start on Saturday, with a rally in Parliament Square and a march to Hyde Park, and will build up to what threatens to be a tumultuous crescendo on April 1st and 2nd.

The authorities, who warned earlier this year of a “summer of rage” ahead as economic conditions deteriorate, are so worried by the scale of the planned demonstrations they are drafting in more than 3,000 extra police officers in an effort to keep order. The cost of that has been put at £7 million – and that’s before any trouble breaks out.

The BBC reports that the British government has ordered the police to investigate Binyan Mohammad's allegations that M15 British intelligence agents were involved in his torture.

This follows the news earlier this week that the US offered to free him if he signed a statement saying that he had not been tortured.

The terms of the attempted plea bargain were kept secret. They have been disclosed by Lord Justice Thomas and Mr Justice Lloyd Jones in the wake of Mr Mohamed’s recent release. He returned to Britain last month...

David Miliband, the foreign secretary, is still insisting documents the high court says contain “powerful evidence” about Mr Mohamed’s treatment should remain secret. The two high court judges expressed surprise last month that “a democracy governed by the rule of law”, such as the US, would expect a court in another democracy to “suppress” evidence relating to torture allegations, “politically embarrassing though it might be.”

Mohammad seems to be fairly well clued in. He emphasised that the individual agent should not be scapegoated as he was only "following orders". Of course: torture, murder, political assassinations are all part of the stock in trade of the Anglo-American intelligence bodies.

The Federal Reserve is bankrupt

The money "flow" in the US will shortly dry up and ordinary Americans will face financial armageddon.

The Federal Reserve is bankrupt for all intents and purposes. The same goes for the Bank of England!

This article will focus largely on the Fed, because the Fed is the "financial land-mine".

How long can someone who has stepped on a landmine, remain standing – hours, days? Eventually, when he is exhausted and his legs give way, the mine will just explode!

The shadow banking system has not only stepped on the land-mine, it is carrying such a heavy load (trillions of toxic wastes) that sooner or later it will tilt, give way and trigger off the land-mine![
The crisis will bring to the fore the true worthlessness of fiat money:

one can argue that the Fed is not your high street bank. It is the central bank of the mighty USA. It will always be able to "print money" or "digitalise" money and keep the markets going.
But beware that the Federal Reserve Note is mere paper, fiat money which cannot be redeemed for anything tangible such as gold

Looks like FEMA is planning for something BIG, like a "747 crashing into a nuclear reactor".

* In late December 2008 municipal officials were invited to Indianapolis for a briefing on the state of Indiana. There were told if industry were to collapse for example GM going bankrupt resulting in mass unemployment a depression would soon follow and municipalities could expect to loose 40% of their funds.

* Every county in the nation would be required to prepare a Hazard Mitigation Plan.

* The county should prepare a plan to vaccinate the entire population within 48 hours and practice the plan several times.

* FEMA inquired to where mass graves could be placed in the county and would they accept bodies from elsewhere.

* The sheriff’s department via the state sheriff association was told that no .223 ammunition rounds would be available as the military would be purchasing all stocks.

* The county was asked to make plans for “hardening” of police and fire stations, putting in hardened bunker type buildings around town.

* The county was asked to make plans for the possibility of up to 400,000 refugees from Chicago.
