A World War is a war that involves all or most of the World fighting over several regions of the world simultaneously, including most of the following USA, Brazil, UK, France, Europe, Russia, China, Japan, India and a significant number of smaller nations. There is no way most of these places are going to start pummelling each other over Iran.
The issue is much larger than Iran- something you'd know if you had actually studied the subject. It's about preventing American political domination of the entire region.

Central to the current conflict is control of the region's vast oil and gas reserves, and as long as Russia can use its resources "to win economic allies in Western Europe, China, and elsewhere, it (can't) be politically isolated." As a result, Moscow reacts harshly to military encirclement and bordering Color Revolutions - hostile acts, the geopolitical equivalence of war.

For America to remain the sole superpower, controlling global oil and gas flows is crucial along with cutting off China from Caspian Sea reserves and securing the energy routes and networks between Russia and the EU.

It's why America invaded and occupies Afghanistan and Iraq, incited Baltic wars in the 1990s, attacked Kosovo and Serbia in 1999, threatens Iran repeatedly and imposes sanctions, and keeps trying to oust Hugo Chavez. For its part under Vladimir Putin, Russia's economy began to grow for the first time in decades. It's rich in oil and gas, and uses them strategically to gain influence enough to rival Washington, especially in alliance with China and other former Soviet states like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, united in the 2001-formed Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with Iran and India having observer status.

Russia’s top military warned the US on Wednesday against using force against Iran over its controversial nuclear ambitions, saying the consequences would be “dreadful”.

“The consequences, I believe, would be dreadful for Iran, as well as Russia, the entire Asia—Pacific community,” said Gen. Nikolai Makarov, chief of Russia’s General Staff.

The statement came as world powers are mounting pressure on Tehran to accept a UN-drafted compromise to enrich uranium for Iran’s research reactor abroad or face a new set of tougher sanctions.

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev has signed a new version of its main military strategy document which named Nato expansion as one of the chief threats to the country’s security.

The document listed first among “chief outside military threats” the fact that military alliance is attempting to “globalise its functions in contravention of international law”.

It also cited attempts to bring “military infrastructure of Nato members closer to Russian borders, including by expanding the bloc”.

Former Joint Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces retired general Leonid Ivashov was less restrained in his reaction. He recently told a major Russian radio station that U.S. missile strategy “remains unchanged” vis-a-vis that of the former George W. Bush administration and missiles in Romania are an integral component of Washington’s plan to “neutralize Russia as a geopolitical competitor” [8] in the Black Sea and in general. In fact Washington’s plans are to destroy the strategic balance in the European continent two and a half months after the expiration of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START). Recent announcements concerning U.S. missile deployments near Russia have been interpreted by some observers as intentionally designed to bury START negotiations and any hope for a treaty for the limitation and reduction of strategic offensive arms.

The first aggressive act was performed by Obama’s Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who “warned” China that it must support serious economic sanctions against Iran (an act of war).

Clinton said: “China will be under a lot of pressure to recognize the destabilizing effect that a nuclear-armed Iran would have, from which they receive a significant percentage of their oil supply.”

The implication here is that China will be cut off from a major energy source if they do not support U.S. foreign policy — this, too, would equal an act of war.

A more direct military provocation occurred later when Obama agreed to honor a Bush-era military pact with Taiwan, a small island that lies off the mainland coast of China, and is claimed by China as its own territory. Taiwan has been a U.S. client state ever since the defeated nationalist forces fled there from China in the aftermath of the 1949 revolution. Taiwan has remained a bastion of U.S. intrigue and anti-China agitation for the past six decades. Obama has recently upped the ante by approving a $6.4 billion arms sale to Taiwan, including:
“... 60 Black Hawk helicopters, Patriot interceptor missiles, advanced Harpoon missiles that can be used against land or ship targets and two refurbished minesweepers.” (The New York Times, January 30, 2010).
The same article quotes a Chinese government official who responded, accurately, by calling the arms sale “… a gross intervention intoChina’s internal affairs, [and] seriously endanger[ing] China’s national security…” In 1962, When Russia supplied missiles to Cuba, near Florida’s coast, the U.S. interpreted this to be an act of war.

China responded harshly to the Taiwan arms deals, imposing “an unusually broad series of retaliatory measures… including sanctions against American companies that supply the weapon systems for the arms sales.” These U.S. arms manufacturers are giant corporations who have huge political influence in the Obama administration, and are likely to further push the U.S. government towards an even more aggressive response.

Joe Stack Hailed as Hero in American 'Patriot' Resurgence

Most were shocked by the charred scene of Joe Stack's kamikaze attack on a Texas IRS office, but for an alarmingly growing number of Americans Stack is a hero.

The Web was studded with praise for Stack almost immediately after his plane slammed into the Austin office complex Thursday morning. The admiring salutes appearing on sites ranging from Facebook to the pages of extremist groups reflect what experts say is an "explosive growth" in the anti-government patriot movement.

"Extremist groups are already aligning behind [Joe Stack], beginning to talk about him as a hero," said Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center which studies American militia and hate groups. "The growth of those groups has been astounding."

Stack's suicide note, an angry rant against the IRS and the government which was posted online the morning of his death, got around 20 million hits before it was taken down at the request of the FBI, according to Alex Melen, president and founder of T35, the network service provider for the Web site where the note was posted.

Melen, 25, said within minutes of taking the note down, the company was "bombarded" with around 3,000 e-mails demanding Stack's words be reposted. Some of the e-mails contained personal threats against Melen.

"What's funny is most people were pretty much praising him," Melen told ABC News.

Bob Schulz, founder of the anti-government We the People Foundation, said that while he only advocates non-violent means of protest, he can understand Stack's motives and said it is a reflection of a movement unlike any he's ever seen.

"There's a huge patriot movement," Schulz said. "I've been doing this kind of work for 30 years. Never have I seen the likes of what's going on now. It's delightful."

Nixon was marketed as an ultra-conservative (and his rhetoric was conservative) yet when President he stated, "I am now a Keynesian in economics" (master of government intervention). He escalated federal spending, instituted wage and price controls with inflation at 4%. Kenneth Galbraith, the famed economist, expressed his astonishment:

"Certainly the least expected development under the Nixon administration was this great new thrust to socialism... As an opponent of socialism, Mr Nixon seemed steadfast."

Consider the words of Carter's acceptance speech:

"Too many have had to suffer at the hands of a political economic elite who have shaped decisions and never had to account for mistakes or to suffer from injustice. When unemployment prevails, they never stand in line looking for a job.

When deprivation results from a confused and bewildering welfare system, they never do without food or clothing or a place to sleep. When the public schools are inferior or torn by strife, their children go to exclusive private schools. And when the bureaucracy is bloated and confused, the powerful always manage to discover and occupy niches of special influence and privilege. An unfair tax structure serves their needs. And tight secrecy always seems to prevent reform.

All of us must be careful not to cheat each other. Too often unholy, self-perpetuating alliances have been formed between money and politics, and the average citizen has been held at arm’s length."

Carter presented himself as an outsider yet as reported in The Times he met with Rockefeller and was selected as his candidate. Carter was a member of Rockefeller's Trilateral Commission and his first foreign policy speech was prepared by 12 Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission members (prepared by the elite he was supposed to be against).

Carter's speeches, including his acceptance speech, were despicably and cynically deceptive. They gave the American people what they craved to hear but were a tissue of lies.

In Reagan's campaign against Carter in 1980, as quoted in Time (October 20) his words were shockingly similar to Carter's earlier speech: "I think there is an elite in this country, and they are the ones who run an elitist government. They want a government by a handful of people because they don't believe the people can run their lives..."

Yet Reagan's campaign was managed by William Casey a full-fledged Trilateralist. His transition team consisted of 28 Council on Foreign Relations members, 10 Bildebergers and 10 Trilateralists. (The same deceptive and cynical tactics)

Reagan presided over the single largest tax increase, escalated federal spending, and increased the work force in the executive branch by nearly 100,000. Walter Keller wrote a column in the Wall Street Journal, "Mr Reagan is a Keynesian now", a conclusion echoed by economist Richard Parker, "He's become a born again Keynesian."

The people vote, they get the same policies.

U.S. patriot missiles in Poland early April: report

Poland is set to host a battery of U.S. Patriot missiles and the American troops to man it from the start of April, PAP news agency said Sunday.

"The Defense Ministry expects the first stage of the stationing of a Patriot air-defense battery and a 100-man service team to get under way in the (northern) town of Morag at the turn of April," the agency said.

The Patriots are part of a Polish-U.S. agreement signed last December to upgrade the NATO member's air defenses, following Washington's decision last September to scrap a Bush-era Missile Shield incorporating installations in Poland and the neighboring Czech Republic.

Russia has repeatedly warned against stationing NATO missiles in former Soviet-bloc countries and said it would beef up its naval base across the border from Poland in its Baltic enclave Kaliningrad.

Friday, however, the Russian defense minister said Iskander tactical missiles would be installed in Kaliningrad only if Moscow felt directly threatened.

U.S. patriot missiles in Poland early April: report | Reuters

Morag Poland is just 35 miles from the Russian border.

You don't have to be a genius to realize that this is being done deliberately to antagonize Russia, whose leadership understands that these Patriot missile batteries are not going to be aimed at Iran.

Good news from the Conservative Political Action Conference:

AFTER THREE days of liberal-bashing, 10,000 right-wing activists attending the Conservative Political Action Conference used their final night in town to give a sharp rebuke to . . . the Republicans. First came the results of CPAC’s presidential straw poll, in which the runaway winner was Ron Paul, the antiwar libertarian gadfly who is only nominally a Republican. At 31 per cent, he polled far better than more conventional candidates such as Mitt Romney (22 per cent), Sarah Palin (7 per cent) and Tim Pawlenty (6 per cent). A majority of voters said they wished the Republicans had a better field of potential candidates.
