Is there a particular reason you're sharing that with us now ? It dates back to the first half of last year, I'd guess. One of my favourite clips on YouTube it is.

The old bird is Tony Benn, one of the greatest parliamentarians of this or any other century.

    Trampas...

You have said some stupid things on here in the past, but I just can't take that seriously.

However, just in case, what is it about this particular draft-dodging lying warmongering mincer, John Bolton you find so attractive ?

Tony Benn is indeed one of the finest politicians to ever come out of Britain. As minister for technology in the 1970s he was absolutely magnificent.

Amazing more wasn't made of his visit here in the days before the referendum to scare monder for the No side. He left it late enough that his main point, fear that Lisbon would undermine Nato , didn't get through to the anti war crowd No lobby.

"The Lisbon Treaty will threaten Nato and undermine democracy, a former senior Bush administration official has claimed." More here

Tony Benn's speech against Maastricht, in November 1991, in the Commons. I remember it very well, as I was living in England at the time. Powerful stuff. A good man.
