Queen of Spain breaks her silence: Liberalism is damaging traditon

The Queen of spain has decided to break her silence on a wide range of subjects that she believes have tarnished the kingdom and brought her adopted country into disrepute: much to the anger of Liberal groups and other extreme left-wing parties.

The monarch who is a devout Catholic has faced alot of criticism in standing up against the suppressive measures being made against the Catholic Church by the ruling socialist party: who want more liberal abortion access, the removal of religious teaching in all state schools and abandonment of traditional spanish values.

Fortunately the current constitutional position in Spain means that the govt elected by the people, and implementing policies they agree with, has the final say, not an unelected individual such as her husband.

This of course is also against the century old 'traditions' of her country - but mosst spaniards seem happy with this!

As with all royalty if they want to speak about political matters they should put themselves up for election.Whether they should abdicate there royal position as well is debatable. My opinion is that they should do so.

She and her Husband are relics of bygone days in a, now, sound constitutional system. Every spaniard of my acquaintance, and I spend a fair bit of time there ,think they are an anachronism and should be abolished. You will find that the only spanish people who do have any time for them are francoist leaning Castilians who never quite got to grips with democracy and those on the very right wing of the Spanish Catholic Church and its supporters.

It would be much better if pampered relics kept their silence on political issues, hers is a bygone age when kings practically owned their subjects and gay people were immolated because they were different - if she must 'break her silence' then she should use it to apologise for the torture and murder of homosexuals by the Spanish inquisition set up by her predecessor Ferdinand II.

The issue of Pride Parades can be legitimately questioned by Spaniards, these parades form part of society's external tapestry like the issue of bullfighting but as a monarch surely her role is to represent all Spaniards and to take sides on an internal Spanish issue is to alienate a significant proportion of her 'subjects'. The good thing about the British Queen is she would never be allowed to mouth off like this, Charles is another matter.

Here, here. Bring back feudal titles separate the classes. It'll be better for everyone.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

Yes, traditionalists in Kenya are distraught over the continuing trend among excessively liberal trendy families not to have their daughters´genitals hacked away with a rusty razor. They are heartily in agreement with Her Royal Highness on this point.

As are several dozen stone-wielding Persian young men, attending at a public Islamic "justice event" featuring a terrified young woman tied to a stake.

Damn those liberals, attacking our traditions!
When you see the words "Mises" or "Hayek" in someone's post, just ask yourself: do I really want to ban paper money and go back to gold?

You have to pity the kind of people who buy into conspiracy theories. I find the following to be the saddest words on the internet: "Re: connection between Bilderberg puppet lady gaga and viral outbreak in ukraine "

All I see is a whinge from a religious extremist about progress.
Her status as Queen is irrelevent, this isn't the feudal era.

Royalty is a hang over from an age when people kept other human beings as slaves, Kings raped at will and children starved so the annointed grand thieves could live lives of abject luxury.

This old bint will be dead soon enough, the best best position a royal (any royal) can take.

I bet she missed the Fascism of Franco? Ah, I always said it, the period of history I would most like to have witnessed was definitely the French Revolution before things got out of hand. The idea of some Nobleman getting it from the peasants is hilarious.

    Chop chop!
