Five men held under Terrorism Act

Five men have been arrested under the Terrorism Act in a series of dawn raids across the Birmingham area.
The men, aged between 29 and 36, are being held on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism.
The arrests took place at five addresses and searches were carried out at two business properties.
West Midlands Police said the action followed a complex investigation by its counter-terrorism unit.
In a statement, police said they were not seeking anyone else and stressed the arrests were not related to any immediate plot or threat to the public.

    Source: BBC News website.

I wonder if this follows on from Channel 4's programmes? They did give their material to the West Mids Police.

Who said anything about them being guilty? The law allows suspects to be detained for the purpose of obtaining evidence - even here.

Tell that to the Birmingham Six and the countless others who had false confessions beaten out of them "for the purpose of obtaining evidence".

It was wrong but now interviews are taped and there are safeguards in place.

That is why PACE (Police And Criminal Evidence Act) was brought into use. ALL interviews are now audio taped as a bare minimum, solicitors CANNOT be denied access to their clients and the accused is given a tape of the interview.

If you read the article you will see no mention whatsoever of their religion or ethnic origins. It is YOU who are assuming they are muslim.
