Rise of Far Left in South Africa sees more "White Flight"

"A wave of alarm swept through middle-class South Africa last week as President Thabo Mbeki was sacked by the ruling African National Congress and replaced by Kgalema Motlanthe, who has already presided over sweeping cabinet changes.
The new president is still remembered as a communist militant who urged that the country’s youth be “taught to hate capitalism”.
The real winner in the coup against Mbeki is Jacob Zuma. He will lead the ANC into next April’s election and is strongly backed by the powerful Communist party and the Congress of South African Trade Unions, both of which favour radical left-wing policies. Polls show that business confidence has slumped to a seven-year low.
There has long been considerable evidence of “white flight” to cities in Britain, Australia, America and New Zealand. It is estimated that up to 20% of South Africa’s whites have emigrated since the advent of democracy in 1994."

After the AIDS denying Mbeki who presided over South Africa becoming the Rape and AIDS capital of the world, the news that the far left is close to power is likely to mean that educated whites as well as some wealthy blacks, coloureds and Indians will now leave also. Affirmative action is especially stupid as it means that they are only driving away better qualified people which means less productivity. It is estimated that 20% of whites have already left with over 60% of the remainder considering it. 1% have been murdered outright with farming being the most dangerous job in the country. Apartheid was a stupid system but now the country will completely go to the dogs with these people in charge. Wonder will the liberals on this site protest at all this violence and terror? Wouldn't hold my breath. Zuma of course is the infamous politician who had had sex with his HIV positive rape accuser and had a shower to reduce his chances of infection

Mbeki for all his faults was at least sane,

Same goes for Mugabe

Hard men perhaps but Zuma will be vilified by the West and will probably compound South Africa's grave current problems

Ironic title considering it was whites who formed the South African Communist party in 1922. It was made up of striking White miners and their chant was, "workers of the world, unite and fight for a white South Africa" This was apparently a response to blacks refusing to join the strike. Most of their key members, even till recently, were white communists like Joe Slovo who also had co-membership of the ANC.
I acknowledge there is a white flight from South Africa, but dispute it is due to the rise of Communist support. In fact a lot of whites would welcome Communism in S.A.
Most of those leaving are economic migrants and would leave for greener pastures regardless of who is in power.
