U.S. Congressman says "Georgia started the conflict"

US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has stated emphatically that Georgia started the conflict in Ossetia by shelling Tshinvali. He said " the Georgians started the conflict, not the Russians, and no amount of talk of provocation can alter that fact."

The Bush regime is still grasping at straws trying to prove Russia started the conflict.

No doubt they are busy pressurising intelligence officials to prove the Russians were at fault.

Yes, and the IT had a piece today about claims that Saakashvili manipulated the last election in Georgia.

Watch all the outraged eurosceptic neocons flood in with denunciations of how the IT has disgraced itself by undermining the perfectly-formed little democracy that is Georgia. Too late now to ditch the Georgian-flag avatars boyos!!!

Has the Irish Times got anyone left who can actually write ?

When Mr Saakashvili used riot police to break up street protests against him last November, he also closed down Imedi, the television station most critical of him.

After reopening, Imedi only returned to showing news and discussion programmes after the election, the OSCE said.
The above is torturous language.
