Do you start threads whenever you hear of Taliban-related civilian deaths also, or is this a one-dimensional dig at NATO?

Or are you making some kind of strategic point about the need to replace air power with greater infantry forces?

Or are you saying that the counter-insurgency cannot be fought without an unacceptable number of casualties caused by air power, and thus the whole mission should be scrapped? In which case you need to define unacceptable number of casualties, balancing the likely casualties from a heavier full-scale civil war which would result from a coalition-forces withdrawal.

    Its the one-dimensional dig, right?
Yep as simple as that, they should'nt be there period! In my opinion Nato should not even exist.
I presume the pixie army or God will save us from the Russians then, right?
Save us from the russians? What planet are you on FFS!

Good point but more importantly are there any calls from people outside Afghanistan for the Taliban to cease and desist? Why aren't the people who are so vocal on the NATO air strikes equally as vocal in condemning the Taliban?

I'm just nervous about the whole situation, when you're as short as I am you become nervous of any war with pixies. if they invade people may assume i'm one of them and lynch me!

Because western democracies are more likely to listen to their concerns and protests than the Taliban are.

Same reason that anti-war protestors prefer to demononstrate outside US or Israeli embassies, than the Russian, North Korean, Palestinian consultates, etc

The problem is when these people become so fanatically focused, that they start seeing their enemy's enemy as the good guy (e.g. Serbia, Iraqi insurgents, Taliban, etc), and fail to see that the reason there's no reason protesting outside HQs of Taliban, etc, is because they're so fascist they'll just kill protestors.

Also, most mentally balanced individuals view the Taliban as brutal Pushtun fascists. Those people who don't are extremists whose opinions are based on political philosophy, not evidence. Therefore, starting a thread entitled "More kids killed by the Taliban" is pointless as it won't change anyone's views.
