    Alex Salmond kicks ass!

Anyone ever seen Alex Salmond in action?
I found a digital station on digibox that shows live coverage from the British parliaments where the Scottish Parliament was on and it was opposition questions to Alex Salmond.
    I'd recommend watching it.
He absoloutly annihilated any opposition questions to the point where he made them all look completely incopetent.
I almost felt sorry for some of them.
Ive never seen one man politically destroy the opposition like this in my life.
He actually had me laughing out loud at one point as he read out an article from a psychiatrist in a Scottish paper about the opposition and their disasterous attempts to discredit the SNP, all of which are easily swept away by Alex Salmond who actually seemed to enjoy disproving their claims.

Why cant politics be like this in Ireland?
Abstinence makes the Church grow fondlers.

I'm glad it isn't - although its less entertaining here.

UK politics is like pro-wrestling. Its all for show - and the real decisions are taken elsewhere.

Atleast if it was entertaining it may gather more interest which could only help fight the apathy of this country.

Salmond is a fantastic political speaker. They brought him back to head the SNP because of this - that alone makes a huge difference to how much attention to SNP. Always a joy to watch.

    That's happening, blinding.

Big Eck is doing a fine job and he is the best Scottish Politician in history barring may be John Mclean and James Maxton who led the red Clydesiders at the turn of the last century against the British Govt of the day.

We are on the path to independence. This issue alone now underlines everything in Scottish politics nowadays, when not so long ago it was a side issue to more 'normal' considerations.

This is due in part to the skills that Alex has employed to put independence on the Scottish agenda.

He has played the long game and many believe in so doing it will be achieved. Evolution as opposed to revolution.

SNP approval ratings are through the roof at the moment after well over a year in office and the opposition have not been able to touch them. There is a sense that if they can keep this going for another 2 years then there is a chance a two option referendum in 2010 will carry a YES vote for independence.

Despite all the shady efforts of the British state.

Unfortunately the SNP are a bit of a one man band. That's why they had to bring him back, because they've got no one else of any impact at all.

P.S. if they leave the UK they can bloody well take Northern Ireland with them. And Gordon Brown.

The SNP is doing well because Labour is doing badly throughout Britain.

When the Scots vote NO, let's see if the unproven and shady SNP accept the verdict or try an EU "that's the wrong answer - let's try again."

It depends on how long the wait before calling another referendum. A No vote would clearly require at least a 5-10 year wait before asking again. That is why it is important not to call one to early.

It isn't like the Lisbon treaty, the Scots would know the fundamentals of what they were voting on.
