Publishing certain crimes is worse than the crimes?

Seriously though; do Muslim women have any rights or protection under the law in Muslim states? It's not that long ago we heard of the case of a Muslim woman, who was gang raped in Saudi Arabia, being sentenced to prison and 200 lashes, and now this
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7466514.stm

An Iranian student who alleged she was sexually harassed by a male lecturer has herself been arrested. A local prosecutor is reported to have said that publishing certain crimes is worse than the crimes themselves.
Fight terror, support Israel!

Re: Publishing certain crimes is worse than the crimes?

Rape is a terrible and unforgivable crime and more should be done to prevent it. For example in the Zionist state 1 in every 9 young boys suffer sexual abuse and in the 'religious' community it is rife: Rabbi Yousef Blau writes, "It is no longer possible to ignore the tragic reality that sexual, physical and emotional abuse exists within the Orthodox community. Recent revelations about rabbis and teachers abusing adolescents, often continuing to abuse for decades, dramatically remind us that our existing mechanisms are failing to deal with the problem. I am not aware of any statistics which clarify whether the numbers of offenders is substantial, but even a small number can traumatize hundreds of victims" There are numerous cases of incest and even the trafficking of women - it is a very unfortunate situation, especially for a nation that's so small. You can read more here: http://www.1202.org.il/English/templ...d=1&maincat=21. In another study it was found that the Zionist state actually thinks more about its image and the tourist industry than the victims of rape "A substantial proportion of the reported cases of forcible rape in Israel are committed against young female tourists. The media provide extended coverage of these cases and emphasize the severe punishments imposed on the offenders, implying that the justice system regards raping a tourist as a more heinous crime than raping a local woman. Similar statements appear in judicial decisions. Reasons offered include damage to the state and to the tourist industry as well as to the victims." http://ijo.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/30/3/213, clearly rape is not being dealt with effectively in the Zionist state. But we don't have to go far to see injustice, Ireland itself has a very poor record in dealing with rape victims, where until recently a victim was subject to interrogation and all manner of insulting and invasive investigation before a court case was undertaken and even then the perpetrator was given a sentence that was far from satisfactory. Again rape is a heinous crime, one that is punishable in Islam. L'Chaim's insulting effort to once again raise the specter of Islam is very telling.

Muj, this is about the Islamic countries' gender rights, not Israel's.
If you want to make another thread, feel free, but don't hijack ( ) this thread.

If rape is such a punishable offence in Islam, explain to me why men that rape get away with it while the women are further victimised by their peers and families? This happens outside of Islamist states in Muslim communities in France and the UK as well. Before blowing smoke up our arses, you may want to take a good look at what you're defending....

Would you ever go away and vent your bigotry and hatred elsewhere. It really is getting tiresome.

I can assure you that rape is a punishable offence in Islam, the most extreme punishment being death. In fact just before I left last year a man was executed for raping a woman and posting his crime on the net. I think you have to be careful about your generalisations - men do not get away with rape in Islam. In the incident of the Qatif girl the men were whipped, fined (the money was given to the woman) and imprisoned. She was arrested to ascertain why she was in the car with strange men, whether it was rape or adultery etc. Upon further investigation she was released. Clearly rapists do not get away with their crime.

Again, it doesn't address the numerous cases of the victims of rape being punished.
