Israel and Hamas agree to Ceasefire

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7460504.stm

Israel has approved a ceasefire to end months of bitter clashes with the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza, Israeli officials have confirmed.
Hopefully this will step in the right direction and the start of real peace talks. Israel is also currently in low-level talks with Syria and is interested in beginning talks with Lebanon. It's just a pity Olmert is so weak right now, due mainly to corruption scandals.

Hopefully, however the Zionist state has shown time and time again its contempt for truces, so we won't hold our breath.

And there's the vote of confidence we can expect from the Muslim side. Hopefully the Palestinians in Gaza are more enthusiastic about the truce than you are. It hasn't even come into force yet and already you're showing your true colours. I've said it before and I'll say it again; you really are disposed towards violence aren't you?

Take off those Zionist blinkers and read the text - the Zionists have consistently shown their contempt for truces - the ball is in their court to prove to the world that just once, ONCE, they can be trusted.

Olmert made a similar statement last night, he must have something planned given the Zionist disposition for double talk and violence.

Re: Israel and Hamas agree to Ceasefire

Is this the end of the truce? Rockets were fired from Gaza today, injuring four Israelis, and Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility. This is the second violation of the cease fire by palestinian militants in Gaza. Yesterday another rocket was fired into western Negev.

Now a truce is a truce or it's not. The people who fired those rockets were trying to kill Israelis. The fact that they failed to do that doesn't absolve them from trying, and of breaking the truce. Now who would have thought the Palestinian side would break a truce?
