Crewe and Nantwich. UK By-election thread

Voting has closed in this contest, which could see the Conservative's first by-election victory since 1982.

Gwyneth Dunwoody died last month, having held the seat with a 7000 majority at the last election. Her daughter Tamsin is contesting the seat for Labour.

It seems likely the voters want to punish punish Browne and Labour. Will the Tories winning streak continue , following their London mayoral and local election successes?

Results should be in sometime between midnight and 1am.

labour have already written it off - but in fairness it is the smallest majority they have had to denfend in a by election since 97 --- how big the tory win is could be significant
