But why? What value has the falklands? Are there are spanish speakers on the Falkland Islands even? Anyone espouse an argentinian nationality?

Drilling for oil to start in Falkland Islands, up to 60 billion barrels of "black gold" were discovered off the islands, oil companies are planning to start drilling within the next 12 months.

Its an honour thing. What Argentine president, when asked the question, could reply that they don't want them.

This is an imperial hang-up for Argentina as much as for the UK. The Falklands were a Spanish territory which Argentian expected to inherit, but which was ceded to Britain.
