Bush booed at Washington DC baseball game

George Bush was asked to throw in the ball at a baseball match in Washington DC. As he came out onto the field, he was loudly booed by much of the crowd.

I have a low cringe tolerance level, so I instinctively dislike it when anyone is given the bird like that, no matter who it is.

But it's pretty remarkable, given the respect generally affored the POTUS in America, that he got such a reception.

i agree its odd, generally the americans are very good at respecting the office if not the man, perhaps a one off or perhaps a sign of a change in attitudes

Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence.
