Perhaps not a good idea to rock the boat.

I don't like they way you believe America and by extension it's president should be held in such high esteem.

When Trump meets the leader of another country, they're both equal to one and other.

Iran next. Then Gaza. Then global trade. Then wall. Then job done. America on top. If you're that way inclined.

Let me re-iterate what I said in the OP.

As a diplomatic effort, Trump achieved a nullity. The driving force in the talks and the victor in the various points was Kim.

That being said, the game is not over, but I believe it was vital for Trump to establish some authority over Kim today. He failed completely. He now has to scramble to achieve a solid concession, and Kim can keep him dangling.

And I still see no evidence that Kim is serious about about "verifiable, irreversible and complete" nuclear disarmament. Nor do I buy Trump's cringeworthy suggestions about American-owned hotels and casinos in North Korea as a way to bond it to the USA.

    Exactly.

Trump should have made clear that concessions were required before Kim was allowed meeting him.

Instead of that, he started with an own goal, and worked down from there.

By "Iran next", when and where do you think he will meet Hourani and Khamenei?

While Trump was disrupting the G7, these guys were meeting President Xi in China. Kim appears to be heading for China tonight.

Not a lot of disunity there, while Trump breaks up the US' alliances and spreads chaos in his wake.

Trump on Hitler: "He's doing what he's seen done, if you look at it. But, I really have to go by today ... and by a couple of weeks ago because that's really when this whole thing started."

Trump on the Pope: "He's doing what he's seen done, if you look at it. But, I really have to go by today ... and by a couple of weeks ago because that's really when this whole thing started."

    Trump on my cat....

I remember 'peacemaker Blair' too and JFK was warmly cheered as a great president once too but Vietnamese peasants were entitled to an alternative view.

He has pulled out of the Iran deal on false pretences - that speaks volumes. While the zionists control US politics if there is a war in the ME that might advance their interests it will eventually be fought no matter the cost in lives or money.
