Nope but that was over eighty years ago so I'm not too pushed. They're Irish too alright but I'm more than happy for them to stay Northern Irish or British for a while to come, until we can afford them or they can pay their way.

Notice the language Harry uses: my subjects.
That's the whole problem. It's to ingrain the imagery in the minds of the British public that the Army answers to an unelected few rather than the democratic wishes of the British people. If the Queen says it's OK, it's OK.

As long as there is a Royal Navy, a Royal Air Force, rather than a British Navy or a Bristish Air Force, it necessitates a Royal leader in uniform to generate the normality for invading countries and killing people at the behest of an unelected Queen or King. And that is why the British State is corrupt to the core.

No matter how bad we are in Ireland, a Royal Family having some limited power in the affairs of a state is an anachronism. Its a veiled form of dictatorship by rite of birth. And the language of the commentator justifying Harry's role (On C4) said it all.

But if Harry is genuine on being in uniform and being on the battlefield, good on him. The problem is that the Brits have no business in Afghanistan. The Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11 -even if you believe the official story.
"Being in uniform and on the battlefield, good on him"?

I don't think so - being a people-killer is nothing to be proud of.
What I mean is: Harry doesn't have to go to Afghanistan. He could have stayed well away from the dangerzone. So in a way, I admire that he is prepared to cut it with the commoners.

I suspect the whole event is deliberately leaked and a PR stunt to encourage young males to join the army and sell the war to the British public.[/quote:9vtorwx2]

I wonder if he's involved in anything like this!:

First of all i cant stay 'northern Irish' or 'British' because my nationality is Irish and the northern irish nationality doesnt exist.
Like it or not the border doesnt effect my nationality and i have as much of a right to call myself Irish as anyone anywhere in Ireland.
Also the economic scarey monster boogyman stories are blown out of proportion but there is thread already on this.
Also you have the usual ROI attitude where you believe that Ireland does not belong to the people in the north and we somehow have to prove ourselves or beg to be let into 'your country'.
We want everyones part of north Ireland out of the UK, its our country, yours mine etc.

I could elaborate but im off to bed......(also this is off topic)

Theres a feeling in the news report that Iraq is his little playground, no mention of the reality of the war and what these troops have done to another nation.
It's not Iraq he's in, it's Afghanistan St333ve. Have you any idea how the Taliban treated people when they were in power - particularly women?

does that include guaranteeing softball questions like they gave him, none of the interviews I saw asked him why he was there or why he could have been in Iraq.

again I see the pride in this meak media.
