Politically NATO should not be there.

Have said nothing pro or against him.

Other than making the point that they conveniently got the story out just before he came home so he can be classed as a hero.

Its UK Establishment Spin to a tee and stage managed pretty well.
Classes as a hero for doing is job? Hardly. I say fair play to anybody who goes out there.

Cmon Odie! - ya chancer! - Don't tell me that last sentence was anything else but a sly dig and a bit of red meat for the "Republican" vultures on this site.

I have little time for the concept of Monarchy - being a republican myself -and I think that this Afganistan adventure by Nato is slowly going down the ************************ter - but I give him credit for wanting to go out and do the job he was trained for with his mates - a soldier - he can't help being in the family he was born into - anymore than you or I can. And if the Brits want to make him into a hero - well thats their business and the rise or fall of the family of windsor and Britains potential reconversion into a republic will not come down to a young soldier's service in a battlezone - give him a break and take the green-tinted glasses off for a moment.
The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then gets elected and proves it.(P.J. O'Rourke)

Agreed, he comes across as a bit of a jack-the-lad but at least he has the balls to serve his country, and not simply let his country serve him

I think it is rather poor show that the Drudge Report chose to publish this information, for the sake of a headline, when there was a deal with the media in place for the information to be held back until he returned from service. They have raised the potential risk to many other people, including him, who are serving over there.

The news report is so cringey, he cant use a gun and hes talking about being a hero its so pathetic.
Theres a feeling in the news report that Iraq is his little playground, no mention of the reality of the war and what these troops have done to another nation.

This is the worst thought out publicity stunt ever, cameras have been following him and he's obviously uncomfortable in the job and isnt really doing anything.
