    Cyprus goes communist.......

    Well, sort of

    Of course as a small country in the EU they are acutely aware of the very limited impact a radical government can have within that context.

    Nevertheless here's hoping they can unite their small island country and hopefully inspire our own similar struggle a bit.

    Before this election there had been claims that this candidate was more willing to accept unification of Cypus than the incumbant. Interesting times ahead.....

    Maybe Cyprus will become the EUs very own Cuba!

    With our post Lisbon Treaty European Army we can send in the Allies to ensure these swarthies return to operating "unfettered markets".

    Democracy has spoken, let's hope this opens up a new chapter for the Cypriot people, Cyprus as a nation and her relations with Turkey.

    Does the president of Cyprus have similar large powers within his country like that of the president of France?

    It is very much a position of power, like a Taoiseach I guess with head of state status.
