It is a sad state of affairs. Recall a truly strong, truly self-empowered woman visiting these Imams
As you well in Believing Rabbinic Judaism women are forced to shave their heads and wear whigs. Personally I find that a much bigger deal as I really love my hair (a lot of other women really love their hair to). The Mother of God, the greatest human person ever to live, always veiled for Her hair and so I don't see how doing see could ever be regarded as a negative. Russian Orthodox Old Ritualist women to this day always veil theirs and they are usually very powerful and strong women. I don't know who this Oriana Fallaci is but she comes across there are as an impudent rootless cosmopolitan. Ruhollah Khomeni besides being a fabulous Plato scholar was a great man who I deeply admire. A friend of mine has an amazing large tattoo of him covering her back that I am SO envious of.
