A SCHOOLGIRL was raped by a gang who poured caustic soda over her body to destroy DNA evidence.

The 16-year-old was left fighting for life with terrible burns from the drain-clearing chemical.

She was under heavy sedation at a specialist burns unit last night as sickened police called the attack by five youths a new low.

The gang beat the teenager before taking turns to rape her in an empty house in Tottenham, North London.

One detective said: “After they had finished raping her, the gang poured caustic soda over the girl to try and get rid of DNA evidence. It was the most horrific thing imaginable and the girl sustained serious burns. This is about as low as it gets.”



Anyone with information on the attack, said to have been by five black youths should call Police.

The yanks have it right, consecutive sentences for such serious crimes as Huckabee is finding out letting murdering rapists out early to murder/rape again. it should be considered aiding and abetting.

Yes, her father made that point very well. It's a crazy anomaly, that should be fixed. I think the idea that sentences should be concurrent when they apply to the same event is not a good general principle. If the impact on the victim is cumulative, as it most certainly is with rape and murder, then the sentences should be consecutive.

I'm all for rehabilitation, but the sentences for violent crime seem to be terribly lenient in this country.

If people got 7 years hard labour (ie breaking rocks all day, sleeping on a cell floor with no heating/tv etc), for carrying a knife, no parole.

50 years hard labour for hard drug dealing.

500 years hard labour for vicious murders, the jails would be empty and crime would virtually finish within 12 months.

You're entirely right. There was no crime back in the days when we had hard labour. Not a single rape or murder
