Do you fear/worry about the USA?

    Just a question.
It looks like most posters here are UK or Irish, so I'd like to here your opinions. (American here)

yeah, quite a lot, not about the ordinary people just your government, and when I say worry, I mean not as "worry" like a parent worries, but more "what the f**k will they do next!" worry

Well I do not fear the gov't, I don't think many do, I would not consider myself anti-american, but i am anti-imperialist. When a country, any country extends it's people or armies outside its own borders, it has huge responsibility, and I am afraid to say, the U.S government has failed in that responsibility, and many of your past presidents including up to the recent administration should be tried, hung and shot for what they have done

But I do like your music! Keep the tunes coming!

This could also be moved to the foreign affairs forum, not really current affairs

i worry about some in the current administration, and more specifically i worry about the oft reported "Bush feels he cannot leave the problem of a potentially nuclear Iran to is successor to deal with" but in general i really like the Americans i know / work with / interact with.

oh no, my apologies, I was not trying to be smart or anything, usually a moderator will move it though if there is a more suitable forum.

The U.S government are not the only bad ones in the world my friend, but you are up at the top I'm afraid, but thats where superpowers usually are in the order

As for myself, I'm deeply worried. Torture, secret police forces (Blackwater), wire-tapping everyone'; phones and monitoring our internet traffic, extraordinary rendition, the ability for the president to declare anyone at all as an "enemy combatant" without judicial review, the eliminating of Habeas Corpus. It's all starting to sound a bit too familiar.
