Obama backs unilateral US strike in Pakistan?

Perhaps a gaff of this nature was long over due, but I put it down to exposing, in very real terms, his lack of experiance.

US presidential candidate Barack Obama has said he would order military action against al-Qaeda in Pakistan without the consent of Pakistan's government.

Oh boy - the world view of the rising star of the next generation of US leaders is no more subtle than that held by the setting sun of the last.

So it seems. It is strange that a naive Liberal seems dangerous as a Bush neo-con.

Obama wll not be betting elected any time soon.

The worst thing he could do was to declare early. He should have let the mystique grow around him like Fred Thompsen is doing and declare late. Its high risk but it is also high reward. The more people examine him the clearer it is that he believed his own hype and thats why he decided to run. There isn't much behind the mask though

the difference between Obama and Clinton, is that Clinton is a woman, and women never say what they're really thinking (just kidding folks)

The answers they give to these questions are utterly meaningless. they're only saying what they think will get them the most votes. They're walking the tightrope of public opinion while still trying to cosy up to enough big business to ensure that they'll have the funds to pay for the worlds biggest and most expensive open air freak show.
Actual morality is doing what is right regardless of what you're told. Religious morality is doing what you're told, regardless of if it's right.

Seems pretty sensible in a war context..

Though I would be somewhat sceptical as to his reasons in saying it given his perceived weakness on foreign policy following what many would have seen as a capitulation to Syria/Iran/North Korea on allowing an unconditional meeting with the respective leaders in a recent debate. Clinton was seen to be more presidential (from a war aspect) in saying that she would only agree to it once she knew exactly what the motives of such countries would be and that the US should always thread carefully in this regard.
Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

Respect for the 'integrity' of national borders or sovereignty (of others) is just not a big deal to them, it seems.

Obama is playing the 'dont worry, Im a nutter too' card - credentials which must be established in order to be electable in that society. Much as Hilary did in voting for the war on Iraq. Ornery, red-neck voters would have questions in this regard about any Black or female candidate.

If he were Gay he would probably have to beat up a few people, live to camera, in order to satisfy this requirement.
