After a week he tried to get closer to the pig until 5 months later he could touch it. Again as he reached out, the dog bit his arse.

The next day he was walking along the beach and saw a beautiful girl unconscious lying there. He gave her the kiss of life and she came round.

That night, the beautiful girl said that she was so happy and grateful for the man saving her and she would do anything he asked of her.

After thinking for a few minutes he said; "aye, would you take the dog for a long walk"

That belongs in the crap joke thread,if its not already there

On a serious point, Merkel has thrown a fierce hostage to fortune here. If Hollande wins, the entire Franco-German - and thus EU - dynamic will change - plus he may not be too enamoured towards Merkel.

She would do well to remember what happened when John Major and the Tories aided George Bush Snr against Bill Clinton back in 1992. Big Bill neither forgave nor forgot that slight when dealing with the Brits over NI and other matters - until his buddy Tony took over in 1997. And he made sure the Democrats helped out Blair and New Labour in the run-up to that election.

    Blowback can be a b1tch...

    You couldn't make that sh1t up,absolute class....she wouldn't make a bunga-bunga in laymans terms

The Germance was going on long before Merkozy arrived on the scene. Sarkozy seems to have taken a shine to Enda, hope Angela doesn't take it too badly. Fierce liberal those Europeans, I'm sure she won't mind if Sarko has a bit on the side.

I think Sarkozy likes Enda because Enda is a good man and Enda does what he is told.
Enda insults his own electorate while hob nobbing with the great and mighty in Davos.
Furthermore, Enda has a cool mobile phone and the other heads of state like to slag him.

All that and he's easier on the eye than Biffo or Angela.

The sooner these two are voted out the better and Europe gets back to one for all and all for one.

Although absolutely correct in what he said today/yesterday, I resent one european leader telling Greece that time is running out.

Europe 'as a concept' was supposed to be built on equality and not dominance by one or two super-egos. I can understand Germany being in a position to dictate (it is the engine of europe), however France is punching above its weight at the moment and 'the little fella' has serious Napoleon issues.

Germany is just one out of 27 member states, and has a record of budget deficits and ignoring EU fiscal stability pact rules which they have now reheated and re-proposed as if they are a bold new rescue plan, they are in no position to dictate to anyone about anything.
