Should Gilmore appoint an Ambassador to the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster?

Should Minister Gilmore appoint an Ambassador to the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster?

Given the strong case recently put for restoring diplomatic relations with the Holy See, with the restoration of an Ambassador there is a compelling case to take a brave step and appoint an Ambassador to the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster.

In these days of great spiritual apathy, this initiative could revive the Spiritualism of the Irish Nation, grow understanding of the communities on this Island in a manner that one day might forge a nation of Islanders who understand and respect their difference in a spirit of mutual understanding respect and cooperation that would give hope for a better life for all, furthering healing that might one day forge a single Nation.

Free Presbyterian Church - Who We Are

The last census in Northern Ireland indicates that there are half as many Presbyterians in Northern Ireland as there are Catholics.

Because they're not a ************************************g sovereign state. People like you make the baby Jesus cry. We don't have an embassy with the Vatican because they're catholic, we have them because they're a state, the same way China and the US do.

We never had an Ambassador to the Vatican State but to the Holy See which is not a State either.

i think the FPC has about 12k members? tying the 'normal' Presbyterians in with FP's is like saying FC utd have the same number of fans as man utd...

They are a very influential group politically as well as spiritually. An indication that we showed them the same deference as we do to the Catholic church would pave a path for more harmonious relations and healing on the Island.
