Vatican embassy decision to be reviewed

Indo is reporting that the Taoiseach has said that he will review the decision to close the Vatican embassy.
Kenny 'to review' closure of Vatican embassy - National News - Independent.ie
    This is sad news.
The Government was right to close the embassy in my view, not because of the cost savings which were relatively minor, but because the Catholic Church is a religion and not a country. Accepting the fiction that it is a country confers priveleges to a religion that are not relevant or appropriate to it and favours that religion over others. Until such time as we decide to open an embassy in Salt Lake City the decision to close the Vatican embassy remains the correct one.

The arrogance of any religion requiring an ambassador to its HQ is astounding, and its insistence of such person being separate from ambassador to Italy also. And all because the Pope is infallible and Christ's Vicar on earth.

This is indeed sad news. Where was the pressure coming from?

Not only should the embassy remain closed, but their "papal nuncio" should be expelled until such time as they come clean about all their crimes in Ireland.

    Disappointing, though not exactly surprising.
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

I think the traditional rural FG vote who still pay and pray a bit won out here.

So it was all just more cheap posturing by the government.
Now they'll try climb back and kiss the bastard's ring.
    Shame.

So much for the big speech, Enda.
It seems the only line in it you're prepared to act on is, "As a practising catholic".
