Israel calls for American Jews to "come home" but insults some

    http://rt.com/news/offensive-.ad-american-jews-215/

In calling for american jews to go and live in israel, a government ad campaign seems to have caused insult to some american jews with inference that, for example, a family that does not speak hebrew or a child that causes the season christmas, is less jewish...

"Another ad shows a toddler calling “Daddy, Daddy” to his napping Israeli expatriate father who finally wakes up only when his son switches to Hebrew. American Jews felt insulted by the suggestion that Israeli Jewish identity was more pure than American Jewish identity"

One features an Israeli couple asking what festival it is – and the American grand-daughter happily answers “Christmas,” instead of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. The implied suggestion was that Jewish identity is being diluted in America – and that has angered many Jews who live there.

The now-banned RT must be dredging for this stuff.

Presumably those angered aren't the target market.

Those secretly worried that they aren't proper Jews are the target market and will be straight on a plane.

    Marketing works that way.

Maybe those offended adhere to the American constitution and owe their loyalty only to America?

Well, based on the wife in the video, they seem to want the purity.

I've heard of that somewhere before.

I would have thought that it was in Israel's interest to have a strong Jewish presence in the U.S. for political reasons.

The US is only 2% Jewish, so the numbers don't really matter. The ads are partially a reflection of reality though, it is difficult to be an Irish Jew around xmas time, especially when one is snowed in like last year .

Israel has a growing welfare class in the form of extremely orthadox Jews with 10 kids each, importing hard working westernised Jews =more tax revenue. That can't last forever though, the Israeli govt, needs to give the ultra orthadox the old heave-ho

But that 2% has a lot of money and enormous political influence in U.S. politics out of all of proportion to their numbers. The idea that this doesn't matter to Israel is ridiculous.
