    RTÉ spreading Iran war propaganda

Earlier on Six One William Hague and Eamon Gilmore were claiming that Iran was developing nuclear weapons - no counter view was given except for the generic 'Iran denies the charges'.

This is bordering on pro-war propaganda as the latest sanctions have increased the chances of conflict between Iran and the US/EU/Israel.

Without the one-sided reports on fictional WMD and Saddam-Al Qaeda links there is little chance people in the US and UK would have supported the oil war in Iraq.

Well don't comment then you idiot

There is no doubt that RTE won't dare to take a position that might upset our european masters. The US/NATO and EU are certainly banging the drums of war and RTE are doing their bit to help.

The International Atomic Energy Agency believes Iran's nuclear programme has a military purpose. The IAEA isn't a puppet organisation of the US or any other Western government. It and its then leader won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.

Also, Iran was offered the opportunity to have its uranium enriched in another country and to export its spent fuel there too. That would ensure Iran's nuclear programme could only be used for peaceful purposes only - which Iran says it is. I think Russia offered to facilitate this but Iran rejected the proposal.

Iran only has itself to blame for today's sanctions.

Even RTÉ is more credible than Press TV.

Like all good media outlets, RTE just republishes press releases. You can't expect them to think about what they say, can you?

So RTE are softening up the Irish people to prepare us for our Government declaring war on Iran?

    Is that your point?

Why should they? It would put them at the whim of Russian politicians. And no other country has to submit to those kinds of conditions.

RTE's task is not to take positions you dope. They reported the events of the day.
Tough if that does'nt suit you. I'm sure the Iranians would have been interviewed had they not been detained at the weekly public hanging.
