British soldiers charged with sex abuse of 10-year-old Afghanistani children

This is devastating stuff if true. The children of Afghanistan surely deserve better from their occupiers.

Hamid Karzai said he was “disgusted” by the alleged abuse of Afghan children as young as 10 by two British soldiers, as the Ministry of Defence confirmed that two arrests had been made over “inappropriate behaviour”.

The soldiers, reportedly a sergeant and a private from the Mercian Battle Group, were arrested over claims they had made films as they encouraged a boy and a girl to touch them through their clothing, and showed the videos to their comrades.

Forcing a kid to grope you through your clothes.... What sad men they must be. Hopefully the soliders involved will be punished accordingly. Unlike, we should add, the thousands of men who anally rape prepubescent sexually enslaved boys for entertainment.

Most of these scandals (Abu Ghraib, urinating on corpses, etc) come to light because the perpetrators filmed or photographed each other committing their crimes. The optimist would say that these vile people are all idiots, the pessimist that only the idiots are being caught while cleverer criminals are getting away with it.

Sure, what'll happen to the soldiers?

Fek all or very little I'd guess based on previous cases

They’ll be exonerated and the blame will be shifted onto the victims à la Widgery.
