Fianna Fail's endorsement of the conserrvative Catholic group.

Fianna Fail TD's attended a meeting today with a conservative Catholic group, who are opposed to the closure of the Irish embassy in the Vatican. Certainly there were members of other political parties present as well as the minister for state for foreign affairs. FF however were the the only political group who voiced 'total oppossition' to the closure of the embassy. Testament I believe to their conservative Catholic roots. Is this what Michael Martin means when he wants his party to return to core vakues?

Arguments about issues from the past. FF - the party of the 20th Century, today!

Another "FF support yet another corrupt institution" headline shocker. Who knew?

Is this thread just another FF or Catholic Church slagfest or a bit of both?

FF would bend the knee to the Devil in order to claw their way back into power - and we can see a perfect example of that today.

The remainder of Fianna Fail would turn up at a wake to condemn Death if they thought there was a scrabbling vote in it. And Willie O'Dea often does.

    1) on what basis is the group conservative, or do we just assume all groups of Catholics are conservative Catholics?
    2) how does supporting them on a single issue constitute a general support?
