It maybe wise if Perry had a quiet word with a fellow GOP member before he makes public spurious connections in relation to the Freedom Flotilla episode
I am not entering the debate between you. But your piece above propelled me to view a story that I read either on CNN, CNBC or Reuters. But for the life of me, I can not find it. I am fairly good at finding what I need on the Internet, so I can only conclude that the article has been dropped. The bits that I can recall are as follows:
Senator John McCain made an accusation that the people that thought up the plan for the IDF to raid the ship were US based Colonels sympathetic to the Israelis cause. McCain thought that the way that the IDF invaded the populated Turkish Ship by climbing down ropes from helicopters in the middle of the night was far fetched and not good military tactics. He went further and made the accusation that the whole flotilla was clandestinely arranged by the same Colonels. The idea was that the soldiers who descended on to the ship would be murdered: Israel prepared for such an outcome would win the resultant massive PR battle against the Palestinians cause etc. and denounce those taking part in the flotilla in the strongest terms possible. Should Irish Navy be sent to protect MV Rachel Corrie?
