withholding aid and lgbt rights, Alive's 2cents

If you look at the second page of this link, you'll find the article:

    http://www.alive.ie/uploads/6/5/1/1/...e_oct_2011.pdf

basically the Alive people have put the most hideously anti-gay slant to their story:

    "This year, for example,
    the Obama administration
cancelled $350 million dollars of aid to Malawi, one of the world’s poorest countries, in
a bid to force it to accept the homosexual agenda"

Of course they completely fail to mention in the article that Malawi was to murder it's lgbt citizens. Personally I do not see the point of offering money to a country for humanitarian aid on the one hand and on the other hand not interfere when they decide to start bumping off 'X' million of their own people for no reason.

I wonder how closely this alive article would follow with actual catholic opinion. Any guesses?

The RCC church is arguably the most destructive western influence in Africa, yet they are critical of Obama's, rather successful, aid policy.

Now it doesn't surprise me that the paper decided not to mention the fact that they were going to kill those lgbt people, obviously they don't place a high value on the life of a gay person. However it dose disgust me that so called holy joes can be so callus towards the people they hate.

With regard to aid in general, it is my view that the bulk of our aid should be conditional on certain development targets, either legislative or infrastructural.

After all Ireland's bailout is conditional, I don't see why African nations should not be subject to the same rules.

Malawi is probably one of the most impoverished countries in all of Africa. It's people need food to keep them alive before we can start talking about modern farming, industry, education and then high minded talk about human rights and gay people.
They are only a few generations away from bones through their noses and eating each other.
You can't exactly fast forward from stone age to liberal democratic utopia over night.

What a classy publication Alive is. I particularly enjoyed the article about Medjugorie, the scene of one of the most hideous episodes of the ultra catholic Ustasi regime where over 500 orthodox women and children were thrown off a cliff to save bullets, with Fransican friars in attendance. Nothing like a miraculous act to cover a genocidal one.

The Obama regime is all over the place on this, they deny aid to Malawi and yet he sends in troops to Uganda, one of the most homophobic regimes in the World.

The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

How many anti-catholic homosexual themed threads have you actually written Roll-On?

Are you getting a shekel for each one?

The withholding of aid unless you adopt our values is as rotten as homophobia.

The "rag", on the same page, highlights the story of UN peacekeepers forcing underage girls to have
sex in return for food. Good to see this issue reported.

Just to clarify, agnostic and hostile towards the RC church.

Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?

Given the age profile if its readership, it's about time that rag was renamed 'Barely Alive'.
