With George Bush leaving us in 2008/2009 and a democrat favorite to be the next president who will take up the mantle as world's most hated man? Or will the world be without an antichrist figure? What will protesters do?!

I'd say Osama Bin Laden, Robert Mugabe and Kim Jong Il would more than adequately fill the void. It's amazing how the left-wing see democratically-elected heads of state/government as a threat but never protest against bloody dictators.

As for Franco and Pinochet, easy to protest against right-wing dictators.
When will the left rail against Kim Jong Il? And, I never heard any left-wing mutterings in the West while Stalin, Mao et al were slaughtering tens of millions of their own people.
What of the 21st century protesters? Perhaps with Bush gone they can finally get stuck into other world figures.Originally Posted by Gerrry
The point is that registering public discontent (protesting) against a figure like Bush in a society where public opinion matters may CHANGE things. Kim Jong Il couldn't give a flying ************************ what most people in the West think of him. Its part of the reason North Korea is the most closed society on earth.
I, personally, would have liked to see more protests against the repellent regime of Islam Karimov in Uzbekistan seeing as he turned into one of NATO's gallant allies in the War on Terror once the invasion of Afghanistan was underway. The problem is very few people had even HEARD of him then.
What about Dick Roche?
Are you calling for a mass movement of the Irish people to swell up and sweep him fro power?Originally Posted by Retired Tallyman

I'll put up Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir. There is a strong movement going on Darfur. Surely he will meet some wrath if he's still around and up to his old tricks in a couple of years.Originally Posted by DaraghM
The thing is, Bush says he wants Democracy, his country is completely undemocratic, 3 offenses & you're jailed for life (no matter what age you are). Death penalty, barbarian, entirely.
These are not modern country, democratic values. This is Iraq but it's called USA.
