The Maduro regime should release all political prisoners, and schedule
free and fair elections in Venezuela.

Which they should never have been charged with in the first place and which they were acquitted of with no thanks to a mendacious AGS (had it been a Special Criminal Courts job (all it would take would be a change marking leftwing protest as terrorist in nature) they would not have been, thank the Jury) - a verdict that has riled several of our leading politicians. The justice system was severely strained by the whole debacle in many ways.

If anything, the protests are more justified in Venezuela given the level of corruption there as shown by the wealth amassed by the Chavez family.
Nothing compared to the corruption of the right wing elites in that part of the world who when they don't get what they want start tossing people out of helicopters as history shows, to surrender to that lot when they use violence is not wise.

'We do not want to be Cuba' - Venezuela's opposition votes against president

Looks like yet another socialist project is coming to a slow end.

So your actually justifying by saying other people did bad stuff there for Chavez et al are allowed to do bad stuff. Just to put it in comparison Chavez never earned more the a moderate/low government wage (officially) first as an army officer then as president. Yet he and now his family are worth billions! They are just a bunch of dirty kleptocrats every bit as bad as all the others. If you defend that you are no better.

No. They do not and never have supported this regime.
They never passed a motion at an Ard Fheis in support of this President.

So SF spokesperson on foreign affairs labelling opposition protests as "having little domestic support" and being the cause of "right wing reactionary forces" shows SF don't support the corrupt regime? Sounds like they are reading a government statement.

U.S. prepares to sanction Venezuela officials, Maduro defies threat | Reuters

The US is upping the destabilisation of Venezuela and the assault on this sovereign country will include "possible measures against Venezuela's vital oil sector."

Now there's a surprise. Trump is keen to establish a US-style democracy of the type recently installed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.
