Not great at geography, are you?
If the Americans were to launch air raids on Iran from the Chagos archipelago, which is about 4,000 km from the Iranian coast, they would not need to fly over anyone's airspace. It's ocean all the way.
It would, however, be a very stupid idea, and one that they and a lot of others would certainly regret. Not least the British, who "own" the islands, nominally at least.
You're right, I can see it now. It could have no possible strategic advantage for the ME theater particularly in case of a US led assault on Iran.
The fact that the Americans have lauched many sorties out of DG to Iraq 1990-91 and since, since 2003 and Afghanistan since 2001 appears to got under everyone's radar - and the fact that they've done it without a whimper from the Limeys counts for nothing either. It might be because they know a really stupid idea all along perhaps!!!

War isn't coming not with this economic crisis.

We have seen this coming for some time but the official political machine appears to be developing a palate for war with Iran.
House OK’s possible Israeli raid on Iran
http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id...onid=351020101Republicans in the US House of Representatives have introduced a measure that would green-light a possible Israeli bombing campaign against Iran.
Resolution 1553 provides explicit support for military strikes against Iran, stating that Congress backs Israel's use of 'all means necessary' against Iran, "including the use of military force," BBC Persian reported.
The introduction of the measure coincides with a pattern of renewed calls for military strikes that have escalated since President Obama signed Congressional Iran sanctions into law...
Oops, swing and a miss. The proposed bill has been introduced. That does not mean it is law and does not mean it has been adopted by vote.
I refer you to this link:

H.Res.1553 is has only been introduced and then referred to committee. It has yes to be reported on (by said committee) and then voted on. The web is awash with hysteria generated by the Presstv bit of spin. But as yet the resolution itself is not an issue, it has not even been voted on. As yet it is still the brain child of Rep. Louis Gohmert from Texas and not much more.
We should lobby against this. Myabe twin Dublin with Tehran or what ever their capital is.

America and Americans don't have the stomach or the money for another war.
This is a good thing.
