May the Best Party win (Reykjavik local elections)

The Best Party has won, with 34.7% of the vote.

Founded by a comedian, it promised a new polar bear for the city zoo. Perhaps more compellingly, it stood as an alternative to the established parties, calling for a "clean out".

This is the worst possible result for polar bears.

Global outrage cannot be far off.

Iceland should be towed into the middle of the Atlantic and left there.

Iceland shows the way: campaign promises free polar bears and a drug free parliament

Campaign promises of free polar bears and a drug-free parliament: it's high time we formed a new party to clean up politics, along the lines of Iceland's model. P.ie political wonks unite: all you have to lose are your repetitive strain injuries. The revolution's here (and you know that it's right).

You should listen to my bias, not the other side’s bias.
