Why don't you just check the monthly Live Register figures? Anyway, if you take your argument to its logical conclusion, the biggest increase in unemployment came after we REJECTED Lisbon in June 2008.

The context of the meeting was fairly clear. The Finnish Foreign Minister was having the equivalent of a mid-life crisis. He said so himself.

And the direct involvement of the Turkish Foreign Minister creates a different scenatio again, doesn't it? Unless you are suggesting his presence makes it an EU meeting also?

Coming from a Shinner that gets my vote for the most unintentionally hilarious choice of idiom in the history of the internet.

So, by that reasoning, what would you call those on the Yes side who did the same thing? Moreover, what of their fellow travellers who only called the dishonesty on the No side and conveniently ignored whatever suited them to ignore.
The fringe groups, extremists and in many cases good old fashioned nuts were the voice of the No side so how could you ignore them when they all said the same set of lies!!!

True but if it werent for a Shinner TD, you wouldnt be discussing this now - and probably unaware it happened!

Which, given that it was a Finnish meeting and not an EU one, means it doesn't matter whether we're aware of it or not.

And if we went solely on what the TD said, we'd have a grossly inaccurate view of it...and as HBAP said, there's not much we need to be aware of, exactly.

eh.. no they don't. They do in the Senate but not in the House of Representatives.

How come every single SF post I read here is filled with lies and misinformation?

This whole thread is utter rubbish.

    1) It was not an EU meeting. It was a meeting orchestrated by the Finnish PM. The Turkish minister was present ffs.

    2) The EU is not taking over our foreign policy. Read the actual Lisbon Treaty and you will clearly see that EU Foreign Policy can only be made on a consensus basis. Only if our government agree will something be made EU policy.
