Well, the apologists on this forum obviously haven't, because they don't work there.
Nor has the CPSU. Distinguishing genuine emergencies from other last-minute (through fecklessness) applications has always been done as a matter for the DFA. The remainder just have to wait their turn. Separating the wheat from the chaff is nothing to do with the union, or with the industrial action.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
There are two main areas of concern for staff in these offices.
1. Their Unions are exposing them to litigation taken by members of the public. It should be noted by Union members that as well as their Unions, they too can be personally sued in Irish Courts by any member of the public who has suffered financial loss and/or stress as a consequence of this dispute.
2. Adopting these negative industrial relations positions will antagonise the general public, and may expose individual members of the unions to physical and verbal assault and intimidation by the general public.
The Union leaders are comfortable on their fat cat salaries and expenses while the workers toil and try in vain to deflect the public's ire!
Illegitimi non carborundum!
So you can now get a passport on the basis that tree planting in Africa
is somehow urgent!
The carbon you burn on your jet trip to Africa will take many hundreds if not thousands of trees to absorb over many many decades.
This trip does not appear urgent to me at all.
Why dont you plant the trees in Ireland?
If you were serious about the environment you would travel overland on this
non-essential journey.
Speaking of banana boats there should be no difficulty in obtaining passage on same in this current Republic.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
“'retail deposit flight, I don't see that as a great danger. Ireland is an island” - Brian Lenihan - to hundreds of international investors
Any examples of that ever happening or are you making an (educated or otherwise) guess?
Surely the backlog though is mainly down to 2 out of 3 printing machines being out of service?? (Assuming the one remaining machine is working at full capacity already)
Personally I wish they would either sh*t or get off the pot at this stage as I'm bored of it. Either put it up to the govt to sort it straight away out or accept whats happening and look for a better paid job...
