Public sector worker insulting possible private sector worker ( probably working himself to the bone, never mind having to keep up with passport office letters) whose taxes are keeping him in a job- well I never. Being called a moron/idiot by a PS worker - we wouldn't expect anything less of them these days!!

Am I right in thinking that your philosophy is "You cannot rely on the public servants to do an efficient job and it is your own fault if you thought that you could"?

RTE are now reporting that there are 40,000 unprocessed passports in the passport office with delays now extended out to 18-20 working days.

According to Ingred Miley the government has now issued instructions in the event of any further industrial action by staff at the passport office. This could mean staff being dismissed or pay being deducted.

If staff in PO are spending less time at counter and less time answering phones surely they should have more time to process applications and waiting time should decrease not increase?

Well the CPSU have gifted the government an issue on which they will have public support on so if the Unions retaliate for any action taken against civil servants in the passport office they are on a loser.

They are hoping to get overtime to process the 40,000 arrears

There will be diversionary tactics employed by the unions later in the week. Other offices like social welfare will start effecting the public.

    War is close by.

    You'd think so wouldn't you!
But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"
