Heaven....According to my old school anyway.
Muslims do believe in some form of Heaven because if there isn't one there must be a lot of p**sed off suicide bombers waiting for all those virgins to deflower.[/quote:cvc15nja] Yeah, but they're banned from "Christian Heaven".
Muslims also believe in Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark and that Mary was a Virgin, (touched by the Angel Gabriel, and that Jesus Christ will return in the final battle against evil(Armageddon) They differ only with us in that they believe Jesus was a prophet. A lot of their beliefs(no pork/ covering of women etc can be found in the old testament.

I can't believe the number of people who are taking their talking points from the Red Tops.

    Give us a break lads!

Here's how it should have been done:

Blair - We apologise for inadvertently entering Iranian Waters.

Ahmedenijad - No bother Tony. The Lads will be on the next Plane home. sorry for the misunderstanding.

    Boom boom end of story.

(as opposed to the boom boom end of story we are going to get on Friday morning.)

Yes, that would certainly do the job apart from one small point. What if, (and I know that we Brits are ALWAYS WRONG!!!!!" ) the Iranians are
(heaven forbid!) lying! , and the arrested personell were actually in Iraqi waters (as an impartial viewing of the evidence would seem to suggest?) Would you have the UK govenment simply give in to pressure from Iran, do you really think that is a good move?

Anyway, I'm amazed that so much time has been devoted to Risteard's point about the girl wearing a headscarf whereas no-one has taken issue with this piece of informed, balanced comment from our very own answer to Father Jack:

As a terrorist who was infiltrating Iraq as a spy for the English government no-one can take the moral high-ground by complaining about her wearing of a scarf. After all, an over-generous policy is what has allowed her to remain alive for so long.
So, Risteard displays a complete disregard/ignorance/disinterest in/for the facts surrounding the incident (HMS Cornwall operating under UN authority, Indian ship boarded, captain of which confirms he was in Iraqi waters at the time, muddled co-ordinates given by Iran placing location of arrest inside Iraqi waters, later altered when UK points out mistake etc.etc.) and suggests that the British sailors/Marines were "terrorists" who were "infiltrating Iraq" He then appears to repeat his earlier assertion that the lady in question and her colleagues should be executed? And all you people can be bothered to discuss is her F*cking headscarf!!!!Jesus wept!!

    Who cares?

If the object of the exercise is to return the servicemen to their families, it doesn't really matter who is right or who is wrong.

If the object of the exercise is to whistle up some jingoism to diffuse the American attack on Friday, then we should all be extremely critical of the cynicism of HMG.

What part of - Get a grip on reality - are you having such difficulty with?

It would have been very serious for the captives if that had leaked while they were still in Iran.

I'm sure even the Iranians are relieved it didn't break otherwise internal forces over there might have made it very difficult to release them without been seeing to lose face.

In fact the British Patrol would have been gathering routine 'Int' from the River traffic - standard fare really along any disputed border around the World.

Be sure the Iranian Patrol Boats do it too.

Well said Catalpa, right on the button. perfectly routine behaviour and nothing suspicious or underhand about it at all, he'd hardly have spoken to the BBC about it otherwise would he?

I don't know whether this is a joke or not...

A source said: “He impressed a lot of executives with his calm and quiet authority. He was an immediate hit.
