New Balkan Wars Loom on the Horizon

Looks like NATO could have its hands full not only in Bosnia but also Kosovo.

Its going to be a bumpy couple of years head in this nasty neighbourhood especially on the back of Greece's recent economic difficulties.

Do you have any other evidence of this, besides whats on this globalresearch website. I do not take anything said there too seriously.

The whole place is nuts, total fukkup. Anyone who invests money there is daft. Anyone who thinks any of those places should be in the EU are equally deluded.

I'm with you there, I like this article on Global Research:

Operation Sarkozy : how the CIA placed one of its agents at the presidency of the French Republic

Way before the Iraqi crisis, Frank Wisner Jr. and his colleagues at the CIA plan the destruction of the Gaullist current and the coming to power of Nicolas Sarkozy. They move in three phases: first, the elimination of the leadership of the Gaullist party and the take over of the party apparatus, then the elimination of his main right wing rival and the securing the nomination to the presidential election for the Gaullist party; finally, the elimination of any serious challenger on the left to make sure that Nicolas would win the presidential election.

What is your rationale for this? Seems rather extreme. These countries are as European as Ireland and on that basis alone would seem to have a claim to EU membership eventually.

Well maybe if the Imperialist powers stopped continously meddling in the Balkans, maybe we would have peace, stability and prosperity.

Right now the news eminating from Bosnia and the occupied province of Kosovo i Methojia is anything but good. History has a nasty habit of repeating itself in this neck of the woods. There will be another major war here before the decade is out.

I suggest you pick up a few books on the subject and get reading.

FYI, I have read quite a few books on the region already, thanks. I, however, was questioning the rationale of Toughbutfair in writing off the region and not allowing it access to EU membership and have yet to receive a response.

The place is a mess, I would not currently invest any money there either, that does not mean it will always be like that. I am hoping that with time and perseverance the people of the former Yugoslavia can be convinced to drop their grievances and reform.

Partizan while I would not rule out a resurgence of hostilities in that region, I would not take the word of some armchair general and suggestions from a conspiracy nut website too seriously. History can repeat it's self but on current evidence I would say it would not.

I read the link, paranoid lunacy. Bosnia nor Kosovo are heading towards war. The drivel that Iskenderov is pouring out is just more fear mongering, playing on Serbian insecurites to inspire a sense of solidarity and fuel secarianism through promotion of victimisation. Its the same god aweful 'academic' guff that underpinned very firmly the policies of Slobodan Milosivic and the still thriving Chetnik movement in Serbia. It was used as fuel and justification for years of horrific bloodshed, mass rape and ethnic cleansing.

If Serbia get into the EU, Ireland will get a lot more undesirables coming to our shores. It'll be even worse here for crime than it is already
