Its great to be an Asylum Seeker!

This is a UK story, but you can bet it happens here too. No wonder the UK & Ireland are no 1 choices for Asylum seekers.

Taxpayers pay £1,600-a-week for family of ex-asylum seekers to live in luxury five-storey home

A Somali family are living in a luxury £1.8million five- storey house in central London funded by the taxpayer.

Nasra Warsame, 40, has lived with seven of her children and her elderly mother in the six-bedroom house since October.

Westminster council pays the £1,600-a-week rent for the former asylum seeker

    He Looks quite happy!

Mrs Warsame and her husband fled unrest in Somalia in 1991 and claimed asylum in Britain.

They have since been granted citizenship and all of their children were born here. But the family could be evicted from their house, as it is claimed it has been rented out illegally.

The fully-furnished house, within walking distance of the West End, has three sitting rooms and four bathrooms.

The main lounge has two leather sofas, a flat-screen television and a glass coffee table. Annual rent for the house would cost £83,200.

Ah the ole trusted royalist Daily Mail. Hmmmm is it really researched or HYSTERIA? When the wealthiest fail, always get some media to find a few immigrant excesses, scapegoat all of them, its in "our national" 'interest' old chum.

It says "ex-asylum seeker" in that story.

Are they getting anything that other Brits can't get?

Why are people still so quick to believe the muck raked up againsta asylum seekers/immigrants I know things are tough at the moment I am finding it hard myself but to say that they are only here to bleed the system is crap, wht about all the Irish who emmigrated were they also bleeding the systems of the countries they entered.
Also do people learn nothing from History about the persecution of the less well off the sick the dissadvantged. It would seem that especially in times of economic hardship that the wealthy move further to the right and use the control within what ever media to devide and conquer.

Isn't it strange that they feel they have to cross an entire continent, and then head for its most distant regions, in order to escape 'oppression' in their homelands?

Utter hogwash. You are PC gone mad, and your name speaks of class-prejudice.

The vast majority of Irish who emigrated didn't sponge off the State like this guy. And if there are those who are doing so, then I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.

Forget about the billions of euro throw into the black hole of Anglo-Irish, it's much more fun to have a go at the weak and vunerable! Let Sean Fitzpatrick sip his cocktails in the Carribean in peace and attack people for the colour of their skin instead.

So having a £1.8 million home is your idea of oppression.

I have a story that will make your eyes water or make you turn purple, close friend of mine, had trouble finding tenants for a property, decided to go the asylum seeker/refugee route. In they came a few months ago, my friend called to maintain the house every once in a while to cut the grass etc. He was asked would he like to come in for a break, cup of tea etc, he noticed a letter on the table. The refugee was writing to some friends back home letting them know how things are, how wonderful it is in Ireland, being treated well and so on. The letter ended stating how great it is to have a "white boy" cutting the grass.
