British Prince Harry Going To Iraq

Kinda stupid imo for the British MoD to announce this. Makes the lad a prime target for practically every insurgent in Iraq.

And worse, all other members of the blues and royals (is that name for real?) regiment.

he may turn out to be unpopular with the squaddies in his company if they are constantly on alert for some enterprising insurgent.

he'll probably come home marvelling at how much greener iraq is than he thought it was.

Not just his own soldiers - I'd say every ginger-haired soldier in his early 20s will be sh*tting himself on patrol...

The scimitar vehicles used by the Household Cavalry are fairly distinctive too

It's nice to see a young man with a bit of backbone. Putting his life in danger for his country is nothing to be sneered at.

Fair play to the fella though I'm sure he'll be well hidden from the front lines (or any lines).

What a scalp he'd be for the Iraqi Freedom Fighters, wouldn't like to be in his Company as a result though.

Whatever about him putting his life in danger (I doubt it, somehow), how is it for his country?

He thinks "[his] boys are out fighting for their country."* so he should do the same.
I think he should call for the draft so that more of his public school chums could help out the typical, working class, squaddie in Vietraq.

    From the bbc article.

Further details of exactly where Harry would serve, or his specific role, would not be released because such a move would be "potentially dangerous", the statement added.

A Blues and Royals source said Harry, who has long expressed his determination to see front-line action, was "over the moon" at the deployment.

Last year, the prince said: "There's no way I'm going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my arse back home while my boys are out fighting for their country."
I heard a comedian making fun off the Prince's faculties before. Is he a bit simple?
