Afghan democracy, a corrupt dictatorship and they wonder at an armed population revolting against it and those who impose it.

Scandalous carry on . Yet welcomed by the UN,UK and US . Not a peep from the 'meeja' either . Im beyond trying to comprehend the ethics, morals or even logic of these people . Its downright sinister.
US and British imperialists do not give a damn about democracy. For them democracy is a means to an end rather than an end in itself. If they cannot get the desired outcome through democracy they will persue other means. The imperialists naively assumed they could get the consent of the Afghan people to oppress them through hegomonic control. Instead they now have to rig elections.

Oh right, so Pakistani Pashtun and Uzbeks in Waziristan are rebelling against the result of an election they don't even recognise in a country they don't even belong too? Don't cod yourself.
Karzai is not a dictator, even if he is a man of question character. His power derive from a constitution. His winning of the second round by default is due to a bad move by Abdullah Abdullah, whom I had hope would win, or at the very least run.
There is a showdow over Karzais government, but hopefully that will add leverage to the legitimate democratic oppostion and force badly needed change which Karzai has not been making, to the detriment of Afghans.
