Could you explain your reasons for questioning the motives of "those behind this report"?

Can we assume now that since none of the Fianna Fáil and PD faithful have been on here defending their party's stance regarding this report that they are as disgusted with their parties policy on rendition as the rest of the Irish public is?

If you or I were considered a "terrorist suspect" by the current US administration could we expect the Fianna Fáil and the Progressive Democrats to look the other way while the CIA abducted us?

A general distrust of politicians and their minions.

It would not surprise me in the least.

While its not directly relevant to the thread, that is actually exactly what we have voted for repeatedly. Having obtained our independence, we seemed to decide that it actually wasn't such a good idea. More correctly, we just handed it over to Brussels because there was money on offer.

The vacuum in Irish public debate is well illustrated by how so many seem to think that we got all that European money because everyone loves us. There's no real concept that we've committed ourselves to something that brings obligations on our side.
However, banks know they have a duty of care to their clients and I'm sure that this should prevent them lending irresponsibly.
