Taliban claim they pose no threat to west

"We did not have any agenda to harm other countries including Europe nor we have such agenda today," said the statement, which was posted on a known Taliban website. "Still, if you want to turn the country of the proud and pious Afghans into a colony, then know that we have an unwavering determination and have braced for a prolonged war."

Interesting little olive branch that. Wonder how it will go down with the Talibans foreign "guests"?

It's true too, the Taliban have never shown one iota of interest beyond Afghanistan. Anyone who claims otherwise just isn't informed on the subject. Yes, they are a brutal bunch, but trying to pin international terrorism onto them just doesn't stick at all, and people are now starting to realise that. And they can't be any worse than Karzai and his bunch of drug dealing warlords.

Did the mention any willingness to hand over Osama Bin Laden (should they come across him) to face charges related to 9/11? It was their refusal to do so that gave the justification for the invasion, if they haven't changed their position on Bin Landen and other international terrorists then any Taliban controlled area is still a real danger other countries.

And what about the women that can now legally be starved if they withhold sex from their husbands? Is that what "fighting the good fight" entails?

Indeed , they only want to rape their own women

Raping Western women would be far too pervy

The Taliban have difficulty even speaking for themselves (loose alliance) let alone Afghanistan, and this latest propaganda from one of their factions is best ignored

I came across that a few days ago.. .Thanks for the OP...

its obvious someone in neighbouring Pakistan is desperate to bring this madness to a quick end...

There are rays of hope... For those who think that America is a God sent battling evil in the world called the Taliban... well heres something to burst your fat bubble...

I m sick of people who act as if they are so knowledgeable and as if it was all black and white... (white being America and Black being the Taliban and do pardon the pun)...Yet its obvoius that they know nothing about the complex politics of Afghanistan...
